An artwork "A Body of Data" (2019) by the RIXC resident artist Jacob Remin from October 18, 2019 till January 30, 2020 is exhibited in the culture centre "Felleshus", Berlin, as a part of the art, science and science fiction exhibition "Ocean Dwellers".

The Felleshus – or pan-nordic building – is the cultural centre and event venue of the five Nordic embassies (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden). It is open to the general public and the site of exhibitions and readings, concerts, film screenings, lectures and conferences.

Currently the Felleshus ir hosting an exhibition on the 20th anniversary exhibition of the Nordic Embassies. The North is by the sea: North Sea, Baltic Sea, Norwegian Sea, Icelandic Sea, Greenland Sea, Barents Sea – the Nordic countries are surrounded by water, formed by water, both historically, culturally and economically. The exhibition questions our relationship with the sea and allows us to change our perspective: Ocean Dwellers.

The exhibition presents a selection of art installations and artistic laboratories from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden that bring together art, science and science fiction. They turn the Felleshus into a place of marine life and ask: What would it mean to adopt a marine worldview?

How do artists, collaborating with marine biologists, divers, thinkers and anthropologists describe and design the ocean as an (in)hospitable, historical and imaginary space? How can politics and legislation help to cope with the consequences of ecological change in this extraordinary and extremely precious marine space?

In the Felleshus is also exhibited an artwork by the RIXC resident artist Jacob Remin which is based on the data gained during the RIXC residence. "A Body of Data" is centered around human bodies in various forms, physical as well as their digital representations. Discussed from the perspective of a artificial intelligence in the future trying to remember and explain what it meant to have a physical body, and the intricate connections between body and mind.

Specifically the ritual of what humans used to call "sauna" is being discussed. Why did we expose our bodies to the extreme conditions connected with the rituals of sauna: Cold, heat, snow, steam, birch branch flagellantism and meditations. How did these extreme rituals affect our body, and how did these actions translate to our consciousness?
