Biotricity. Fluctuation of Microworlds is a live installation at the MIT Center for Theoretical Physics (Building 6, 3rd Floor), April 28 – May 5, 2018.

The environmental data from bogs, marshlands, and other wetland types are interpreted in a real-time audiovisual environment and virtual experience.

The Swamp Radio project is based on earlier Biotricity experiments by artists Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits at RIXC and Kemeri bog near Riga, Latvia. Biotricity sonifies and visualizes the fluctuation of bacterial electricity generation, and artistically interprets collected data from the environmental monitoring. This spring the artists are expanding their Biotricity research into water reservoirs and marshlands in the Boston area, and creating the Swamp Radio monitoring and transmitting environment for the wetlands of Venice.

Biotricity. Fluctuation of Microworlds is part of the Zooetics+ Symposium, a CAVS 50th anniversary event.

May 23 – 27, 2018
Swamp Radio Environment, and EcoData symposium will be part of the Swamp Pavilion, Venice Architecture Biennale 20181 Cultural Center, II Giardino Bianco Art Space, from May 23-27, 2018.
