"Artificial Intelligence is a part of our daily lives and it allows us to solve both difficult problems and mundane tasks. One of the AI pioneers - Luc Steels - continues to explore many opportunities that AI offers us, while finding a solace from the "coldness" of technologies by writing operas."

This year Luc Steels was a special guest of the RIXC Art and Science festival. The Belgian computer scientist Luc Steels is one of the AI pioneers, in the nineteen seventies he studied computer science with specialisation in Artificial Intelligence at M.I.T. (US) and in 1996 Steels became the founding director of the Sony Computer Science Laboratory in Paris. He is elected member of the Flemish Royal Academy of Science in Belgium and the European Academy of Science in Barcelona.

In the interview Luc Steels was asked questions about the AI, its influence and people's fear from it by a delfi.lv foreign news journalist Toms Ģigulis.
