In the end of April RIXC will issue the 16th edition in peer-reviewd Acoustic Space journal/book series titled RENEWABLE FUTURES. The first book presentation will take place during the 2nd Renewable Futures conference in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, April 28–29, 2017.

The book will feature texts by participants of the 1st Renewable Futures conference (Riga, 2015). The visual section will look back at the grand FIELDS exhibition (Arsenals Exhibition Hall of the Latvian National Arts Museum, produced by RIXC). Editors and FIELDS exhibition curators: Rasa Smite, Armin Medosch, Raitis Smits.

Themes: Art and Technopolitics, Postmedia (Art) and Contemporary Conditions, Intersecting Art and Science, Rethinking Data, Earth Systems and Techno-Ecologies, Fields.

The Acoustic Space journal was initially founded in 1998 by E-Lab/RIXC (Riga) for new media art, network culture, and creative explorations within digitally networked environments and electro-acoustic spaces. Since 2007 Acoustic Space comes out as a peer-reviewed international journal for transdisciplinary research on art, science, technology and society. It is published by Riga’s Center for New Media Culture RIXC in collaboration with Art Research Laboratory of Liepaja University.
