RIXC aicina pieteikties 2018. gada ziemeļu rezidenču programai māksliniekus, kuri strādā ar šādām tēmām: māksla un zinātne, zemkopība pilsētās un laukos, klimata pārmaiņas, daba, mežu un purvu ekosistēmas, hidroponika, mikrobi, ražas novākšana, vākšana, tehnoekoloģijas, biomāksla, lauksaimniecība.

Rezidencēm, kas norisināsies gan Rīgā, gan Latvijas laukos var pieteikties profesionāli mākslinieki no Ziemeļvalstīm (Dānijas, Somijas, Fēru salām, Grenlandes, Islandes, Norvēģijas, Zviedrijas, Ālandu salām) vai Baltijas valstīm (Igaunijas, Lietuvas).

RIXC Nordic-Baltic residency programme extends the call for year 2018! 
Deadline (extended) – March 31, 2018.

The new RIXC Nordic-Baltic residency programme encourages to apply digital artists who are working with following topics: art and science, urban-rural farming, climate change, nature, forest and swamp ecosystems, hydroponics, microbes, harvesting, foraging, techno-ecologies, bioart, agriculture.

The main base of the residency is RIXC Laboratory in Riga where's free access to WiFi, shared work space equipped with facilities for AR/VR/360-video production, sound and video editing, and digital fabrication (3D printer, CNC, laser cutter).

However, for the artists to have more suitable conditions to work with environment, ecology and field studies, we offer a unique possibility to spend part of the residency time in new RIXC Rural Lab (in the countryside of Latvia, 100 km from Riga).

Expected results of the residency include VR, acoustic immersive environments, 360 degree video, interactive work which can be shown in the RIXC gallery at the close of the residency.

We welcome professional artists from Nordic and Baltic countries to apply for 2-month residency, that should take place in May-June (or October-November). Eligible countries of residence for the artists are Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Åland) or the Baltic states (Estonia, Lithuania), but it is not necessary for the artists to have Nordic or Baltic nationality.

We welcome applications from both – established and emerging artists, and we primarily will accept those applications, in which artists will express their interest in exhibiting their work, getting engaged with local communities, conducting workshops, getting involved in RIXC activities, and with a local scene, and/or to visit our partner space in other Baltic residencies. Artists groups are welcome if they are wiling to share the conditions including the accommodation.

Digital artists from Nordic-Baltic region will be granted with the scholarship of 1500 EUR for 2-month residency, project production / material budget of 1000 EUR, free accommodation, travel expenses up to 300 EUR for artists from Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Åland; up to 650 EUR for the artists from Iceland, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and up to 30 EUR for the artists from Estonia and Lithuania.

Applications should be submitted via email to rixc@rixc.org and must include a CV, (audio)-visual documentation and a preliminary plan or sketch of the proposed project to be developed within the RIXC Residency programme.
