This year's festival is a collboration with "Ecodata" research project that explores the role and significance of new media, technologies and technoscientific methods in the arts for the perception and awareness of the ecological. The festival will feature the "Ecodata – Ecomedia – Ecoaesthetics" exhibition and symposium with outstanding keynote talks by scientists and artists, as well as the annual Open Fields conference, public performance programme, participatory workshops, and artistic interventions by young and emerging artists.

We welcome proposals by artists, scientists, doctoral researchers and experts from different academic disciplines and professional fields.

The proposal should consist of title, 5–6 keywords, abstract (up to 200 words), and biography (up to 120 words, in 'Comments' field).

Open Fields is the annual conference of RIXC festivals that gathers together an international community of artists and researchers. This year Open Fields. Ecodata, also will host parallel program showcasting the work of emerging artists, as well as performances, artistic interventions, pop-up exhibitions, workshops and presentations.

Symposium will introduce the results of the 3-year research project "Ecodata – Ecomedia – Ecoaesthetics", led by researcher and theorist Yvonne Volkart (Basel, Switzerland), with the participation of invited keynote speakers, artist talks and presentations by scientists.

The festival is organized by RIXC Center for New Media Culture as a part of "Green Revisited: Encountering Emerging Naturecultures (GREEN)" project co-funded by the Creative Europe.
