The RIXC Art Science Festival's exhibition explores climate imagination as a cultural and scientific field where art, technology, and environmental research intersect featuring 10 artworks by 18 local and international artists.

Philippe Sormani is a Senior Researcher at the STS Lab at the University of Lausanne and the Immersive Arts Space at Zurich University of the Arts. The keynote respondent will be Ainārs Kamoliņš, a philosopher, curator, and doctoral researcher. Free registration HERE.

To explore possible futures of plant evolution, the artists use AI to transform herbarium images of wild Andean lupines—one of the most remarkable examples of recent explosive plant diversification—into speculative, unimaginable forms.

More-than-human exhibition just opened at the Bradbury Art Museum featuring the Atmospheric Forest artwork by Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits as well as artworks by 10 other international artists.

In collaboration with the 75th International Film Festival Mannheim-Heidelberg (IFFMH), on Wednesday 2 September, at 7 pm, the exhibition "Solarceptors" by artists Rasa Šmite and Raits Šmits will open in the STUDIO exhibition hall of the prestigious Kunsthalle Mannheim art museum in Mannheim, Germany. The event will also feature a discussion with both artists.

The exhibition presents Rīga through the lens of a slit-scan camera. Travelling on tram 1 from Imanta to Jugla, the artist has documented the passing view, creating a series of surreal, hybrid images where time, movement, and perception intersect.

From July 6 to 25, artists from the Baltic and Nordic countries will embark on green mobility routes in Baltic and Nordic countries, exploring ecosystems using immersive media technologies, culminating in meetings at the RIXC Fields Residency, Latvia and Onsala, Sweden. To mark its 25th anniversary, the Swiss Research Association for Science, Technology, and Society (STS-CH) is organizing a program of events, during which Rasa Smite will present "Atmospheric Forest" by her and Raitis Smits.

We are happy to announce that the Taiwanese artist Chia-Yi Chen has arrived at the RIXC residency in Riga! The residency takes place in collaboration with Zone Sound Creative (Taiwan).

For this workshop SLOLab / York University works with artists Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits to explore visceralization of data within the RIXC's Augmented Reality application SensUs Art, creative programming: Patrick Borgeat.
