On November 4, Rasas Šmite and Raits Šmite will give a public talk at Södertörn University in Stockholm, followed by the opening of their VR installation Atmospheric Forest on November 6.

After the RIXC Art Science Festival 2025: Plants Intelligence in Riga, the Plants_Inteligence Symposium will take place in Basel, organized by the RIXC partners, Plants_Intelligence team:Yvonne Volkart, Felipe Castelblanco, Julia Mensch and Rasa Smite. It marks the conclusion of the four-year research project "Plants_Intelligence. Learning Like a Plant", which is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and based at the Institute Art Gender Nature (IAGN) at HGK Basel.

Another thematic perspective at this year"s RIXC Art Science Festival comes through collaboration with one of the RIXC"s longstanding partners, the Goethe-Institut Riga, which this year joins with the French Institute in Latvia and RIXC to present the Resonances of Nature project, supported by the Franco-German Cultural Fund.

German artist Adnan Softić contributes performance in collaboration with Latvian and German artists and workshop using his Klimaton Arctic, a musical instrument that transforms scientific data from the MOSAiC Arctic expedition into sound, making the climate crisis tangible through immersive listening.

The main guests of this year's experimental music festival Skaņu mežs will be hyperpop project Sega Bodega, experimental rock band These New Puritans, avant-garde rapper Fatboi Sharif, and contemporary jazz star Shabaka Hutchings.
