What can't generative artificial intelligence (AI) stop thinking about? The exhibition explores the visual archetypes underlying AI models - aesthetic and cultural biases accumulated in training data.

The RIXC Festival 2026 explores Climate Imagination as a cultural and scientific field where art, technology and environmental research intersect, featuring the international exhibition, first Baltic STS conference-meeting, EMAP workshop and live performances.

To mark its 25th anniversary, the Swiss Research Association for Science, Technology, and Society (STS-CH) is organizing a program of events, during which Rasa Smite will present "Atmospheric Forest" by her and Raitis Smits.

The VR viewing sessions are presented as part of the research project "Von der Behauptung zur Evidenz" (ZHdK & ZHAW), and it includes a short questionnaire before and after the VR experience. Weekday visits require advance booking HERE.

We are happy to announce that the Taiwanese artist Chia-Yi Chen has arrived at the RIXC residency in Riga! The residency takes place in collaboration with Zone Sound Creative (Taiwan).

For this workshop SLOLab / York University works with artists Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits to explore visceralization of data within the RIXC's Augmented Reality application SensUs Art, creative programming: Patrick Borgeat.

The Workshop-01 on Tools, taking place on May 11, 2026 at ZHdK in Zurich, marks a reflection on the first year of Immersion Studies for Climate Experiences, SNSF-funded project, hosted by the Immersive Art Space ZHdK, PI Rasa Smite.

The RIXC Art Science Festival "Plants Intelligence" has been nominated for the Annual Art Award of Latvia in the "Event of the Year 2025" category - the winner will be announced and the award presented on April 18 in Valmiera.

RIXC's partner, the State Art Gallery Gallery in Sopot, Poland, is organizing a large-scale exhibition "Deep Down" featuring artwork by Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits.

The beginning of 2026 marks a significant event in the Latvian visual arts- for the first time, the nominees for the new national award, the Latvian Art Award (LMGB), are announced.

On February 7, a new art and research laboratory opened at 12 Aristīda Briāna Street, offering an alternative education program dedicated to sound art, music, new and old media, and audiovisual experiments.
