"Talk to Me" is an artistic study by artists Rasa Smite and Raitis Smits about communication between people and plants, which in particular aims to explore the relationship between nature and human, biology and technology, biological and social processes. At the centre of this interactive exhibition is human – plant communication and artists ask the question: “Do plants grow better, taller and more beautiful if people talk to them?” We invite everyone to express encouraging words to the biennale plant via the internet: http://talktome.rixc.lv. Online text messages will be "read" to the plants round the clock. You will also be able to choose whether you wish your message to be played in male or female voice. http://smitesmits.com/
"Cloud Farming" project by Rihards Vitols is a unique method of how people will be able to gain drinking water on a daily bases. Within next two decades drinking water available on land will no longer be available in nutrition; therefore, in future people will timely have begun to collect data on the sky density of their property. The higher the density, the more expensive the property. This leads to a new type of economy – cloudfarming. Vītols predicts that in future people will maintain balloon farms. http://rihards.mplab.lv/
