The European Media Art Platform (EMAP) is a network comprising 16 leading European media and digital art organizations. From May 8 to 9, 2026, EMAP representatives and selected EMAP residency 2026 artists met for the first time at the EMAP networking conference at the gnaration center in Braga, RIXC representative Agnese Baranova and RIXC residency artist Agnieszka Pokrywka (Poland/Finland).
Following the jury process earlier in this April, the selected artists and EMAP members met for the first time to present their projects and to discuss ideas and approaches.
The meeting was hosted by gnration on 8–9 May 2026. Over the two days, the focus was on establishing a common working basis for the residency cycle and opening a space for dialogue between artists and institutions.
The EMAP Networking Conference coincides with the INDEX Biennial, situating the meeting within a wider public programme in Braga from 7th to 17th of May.
Under the theme of “Power”, INDEX 2026 presents an expansive programme of performances, conferences, education activities and an exhibition spawning different venues in Braga. Forensis & Bill Kouligas, McKenzie Wark, Hito Steyerl, Celine Sahin, José Gil, Arkadi Zaides, Nídia & Valentina are some of the names featured in the programme.
