RAM (Random Access Memories) is the third exhibition by audiovisual artists organism Trihars which will take place from August 18 to September 4, 2016, in the RIXC Gallery (address: 11. novembra krastmala 35, Riga). The opening – on August 18 at 19.00 with the artists audiovisual performance at 20.00.

Audiovisual organism Trihars belongs to the one of the most underground, yet the fastest evolving new media projects in Latvia for the last couple of years. Apart from being emerging the trinity composed by the artists Rihards Vitols, Peters Riekstins, and Kristaps Biters they are showing also a great potential at formatting a professional electronic drift from experimental to glitch, from witch house to industrial, from ambient to IDM.

In this exhibition artists invite to think about human relationship with technologies, especially data saving, artificial intelligence as well as solutions for the future ecological balance in forests.

The work "Woodpecker" by Rihards Vitols is a research performend in a forest about communication among birds trees and insects. In the RAM exhibition Rihards Vitols will show the first part of the project "Woodpecker" where he is trying to find out if we can replace some of the bird species with artificial ones to keep the natural balance in a forest if the birds become extinct. The work is based on scientific papers about insect eating plants, the extinction of birds species and their effect on the population of insects and the forest.

The exhibition will open on Thursday, August 18, 2016, at 19.00 in RIXC Gallery (11. novembra krastmala 35, entrance from Minsterejas iela) and will remain on view until September 4, 2016. On the opening night (August 18) at 20.00 there wil be also a performance by Trihars artists.

Hours: Monday – closed; Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 14.00 – 19.00; Saturday and Sunday 12.00 – 18.00.
Free entrance.
